About Project
The site is located on an aerie plateau overlooking Pawna lake of Maval taluka in Pune district. The longer side of the site gets an entire panoramic view of the lake and the landscape that the environment gives us away.
This project was born by the dream of the owner to rent out the villa in times when tourism is flourishing in this area. The main idea revolves around providing a self-sufficient villa for weekend getaways, family functions and for having a perfect rendezvous.
Solving the conundrum of designing where each room gets the view of the lake, was the main task to be catered. A 2370 sq.ft. (5bhk) villa is planned in such a way that it sits parallel to the view below. A large living room opening out to the view serves to be the cardinal point with all the bedrooms arranged abreast with it. Courtyards have been incorporated in such a way that all the rooms open out in it. These courtyards also help the rooms behind in getting the view of the lake. Large wall-to-wall openings further help in maximising the lake view.
Further, the hierarchy of rooms is planned such that each room opens out in a deck or small courtyards, which further opens into a green landscaped area having an infinity pool on the edge of the site. This infinity pool gets the larger view of the lake and greenery juxtaposed around it.
Situated in a heavy rainfall area, a sloping roof is proposed to this entire ground structure, thus giving a sense of a peaceful bucolic life, away from all the city chaos. The elevation as well as the interiors are designed keeping in mind the Bali theme which the client fancies.
Hipped roof with large overhangs, corner columns, large openings, wooden decks and heavy landscape are the key elements adding value to the Bali theme.
